Women who are enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with at least 9 credit hours/semester are eligible.

Where/when are tryouts? |
Look at Tryouts page to see the dates and times for Open Gyms and Tryouts. They are all located in the ARC Gym 2, directly to the left after scanning your i-card for entry. |
How many people make a team?

The A and B team each have between 10 and 15 players for a maximum total of 30 players. The elected executive board of 5 players is guaranteed to make a team, but otherwise all players must tryout each year.

For tryouts you will need to bring your icard and a check/cash for the tryout fee ($25). Bring an extra volleyball if you have one on campus.
Can I rush sororities or join other clubs?
Tryouts and open gym work around sorority rush and recruitment, so feel free to rush! Many girls on the team have joined sororities and managed both with ease. Additionally, many players are involved in other organizations on campus. Feel free to join clubs and explore activities because you will be able to manage your time.

How often are practices?
There are three practices a week, two hours each: Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday, 7-9pm.

There are no coaches?

We are a completely student-run organization. We do not have outside coaches, but rather we have a 5-person executive board that organizes and runs the teams. Captains are voted on after teams are finalized at the beginning of the season.
How many tournaments are there?
We have about 3/4 tournaments each semester, with a home tournament each semester and National Championships in the spring.

What if I am a transfer student?
You are welcome to tryout! If you were a previous varsity athlete at another college or university, you are still eligible.
Can I study abroad and tryout?
If you plan to study abroad, you are still eligible and are encouraged to tryout! Please let an executive board member know of your plans beforehand. We consider study abroad players on a case by case basis.
How much does it cost?
Fees for the year are around $550, which includes hotel accommodations, travel expenses, tournament entry fees, etc. We participate in fundraising to help pay for our costs.
